In 2008, an Enviro 500 was sent from Hong Kong to Australia for demonstration. During its trip, it visited Brisbane, Coffs Harbour, Sydney, Canberra & Melbourne, it also visited the bus museum and was driven to tourist spots for photo-taking!

Sydney DGT classic green and cream AEC decker with original 1940s canvas front door. The protype for this model is m/o 1792 the first preselector transmission AEC Regent to enter service in Sydney, 1947.

TX7 Leyland OPS2 "Frog" Single Deck

The AEC Frogs were the result of hasty decisions by DGT planners and engineers.  The need for large capacity deckers was waning and low capacity feeder buses was more needed. So the chasses had single deck bodies built on them. M/O 2627 has a counterpart  at the bus museum, (no. 2199 Iin green and cream  which is one of the  few surviving examples).

TX17 PTC Leyland Atlantean

Sydney's Atlantean had a sad history. They weren't good buses, throwing up many mechanical problems; there were also lengthy industrial disputes which prevented them from being used for their intended purpose as one-man operated high capacity deckers. They eventually ran on long distance light-traffic routes. The chequered story of PTC Atlanteans in Sydney is featured in Issue 39 & 40 of Australian Bus magazine.
